Evacuation Diagrams – AS 3745 Symbols: Emergency Plan

AUST – Emergency Plan advises that building owners and managers should make themselves aware of the new AS 3745 – 2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities, especially the area of evacuation diagrams and the symbols nominated to be used.

AS 3745-2010 now specifies minimum size and content for evacuation diagrams, in particular Figure E3 Examples of Symbols Used in Evacuation Diagrams. Building owners and managers should be aware that alterations to their building more than likely will necessitate the evacuation diagrams requiring to be updated. Any alterations to evacuation diagrams must be in accordance with the new symbols are shown in Figure E3 below.
